The first day of the International Water Conclave was in full swing and had a lot of participation from experts and officials. Hon’ble Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma gave the keynote speech, saying that the conclave’s goal is to work with various stakeholders to create innovative policies for the region.The Conclave, which concluded on February 10th, was a state initiative to promote dialogue on water conservation and find new and sustainable solutions with key experts, especially in light of climate change affecting life in the hills.The event also had the presence of the Hon’ble Minister of Water Resources Shri Comingone Ymbon, the Hon’ble Minister of Fisheries Department Shri A L Hek, the Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Dr Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh, the Secretary of the Ministry of Jal Shakti Smti Debashree Mukherjee, the Chief Secretary of State Shri D P Wahlang, the Additional Chief Secretary Shri Dr Shakil P Ahammed, the Commissioner and Secretary Dr Joram Beda, and others.Various delegates and key experts from across the country and neighboring countries like Bhutan and Nepal also joined the water discourse.#internationalwaterconclave #IWC2024 ...
